Gower College Awards
Amroc had the privilege of attending the Gower College 2025 Awards Night—a truly
inspiring evening dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of
students past and present.
We were especially proud to present the GCS Training Student of the Year award to
Dawne Meynell-Wester, whose hard work, dedication, passionate beliefs, embodies
the very best of what GCS Training stands for. Dawne’s journey is a shining example of
the impact that commitment and support can have on personal and professional
growth 👏👏
🎤 The evening was expertly hosted by Kev Johns MBE, whose warmth, energy brought
the entire celebration to life
Guests were treated to a moving musical performance by talented student Isobel
McNeill, and an inspiring keynote speech from guest speaker and past Gower College
student Alex Callender, Wales International Women’s Rugby player, who delivered a
powerful message of perseverance, teamwork and ambition.
The night also held special significance as it marked the retirement of Chief Executive
Officer Mark Jones MBE, who steps down after 20 years of outstanding service at Gower
College—12 of those as CEO. His leadership has had a profound and lasting impact on
the college community, and the evening served as a heartfelt tribute to his legacy and
contributions 💙
Events like this showcase the incredible achievements within our communities —and
Amroc is honoured to support and champion the learners shaping our future.
